LIGHT OF HOPE RUn 2017 NEL TRAIN
photography & design
The Light of Hope Run is Organised by TOUCH Community Services and spearheaded by a group of volunteers. The race aims to raise public awareness and fight the social stigma related to depression and mental health. In 2017, I was approached to conceptualise, photograph and design the advertisements in the North-East line trains to help promote the upcoming event.
The main concept revolves around exposing the public to the various types of mental health issues, in an invisible war that victims of it have to constantly fight. The portraits are intentionally split down in the middle with a more 'positive' side in colour and a 'negative' side in black and white. The white flowing strands emitting from the victims symbolises the constant voices and thoughts that bring them down.
